Career Specialist Andrea Rodgers reports on her customer, “In May 2017, John, a dislocated worker from CEI Engineering Associates, visited Man-Tra-Con for job search assistance. He had been unemployed for quite some time and had exhausted his unemployment benefits. During our intake session, John disclosed that he was a veteran and had a physical disability.”
Determination helps Catherine find permanent employment.
Career Specialist Michelle Sanchez reports on her customer. “Catherine came to Man-Tra-Con seeking assistance in March 2015. She needed help with her resume and her interview skills. In addition, Catherine had not worked in an office setting in about seven years, and had already developed a one-year gap in her work history since working in retail,” Michelle explained.
As a dislocated older worker, Connie survives life’s challenges to find new employment.
Career Specialist Reba Utley reports on her customer, “After more than eight years of service, Constance “Connie” Peters voluntarily accepted a “lay off” from Marion Eye Center in Marion, Illinois. She had worked as a Purchasing Supervisor overseeing several employees. Connie frequently met with sales representatives and negotiated prices on drugs, medical supplies, office supplies and maintenance equipment.”

Career Specialist Reba Utley reports on her customer, “Cindy had been working as a Personal Assistant for a southern Illinois law firm when she was laid off in April 2016. As a single woman supporting herself, funds were tight and Cindy needed to find employment as soon as possible.
Resume assistance from Man-Tra-Con helps David find employment in a new field!
David began receiving Man-Tra-Con job seeker services in November 2015. He had previously worked at a bank for the past 20 years. Recently unemployed, he had been working at part-time or temporary positions. David needed help with creating a resume and improving his interview skills.
Work Experience Program helps Jeff find a good paying job after ten years of being unemployed.
Jeff had been unemployed for over ten years when he visited Man-Tra-Con for job search assistance in October 2016. After struggling for many years with alcoholism and a brain injury, Jeff had lost confidence in his ability to work. He felt physically unable to make it through a typical 8-hour workday and doubted he would ever be able to find employment.
CDL training helps Anthony earn a decent wage.
Stephanie Robinson reports on her customer, “When Anthony first came to Man-Tra-Con, he had been unemployed for over a month. He was struggling to pay his bills and ineligible for unemployment. Anthony was interested in CDL training because he had obtained a CDL license many years ago and knew he could find self-sufficient employment with those specific skills.”
