In May 2016, she began receiving dislocated worker services administered by Man-Tra-Con Corporation through WIOA funding. Crystal had only been familiar with the trucking business, after having worked in it for over 20 years.

In June 2017, she had been receiving unemployment benefits when she came to Man-Tra-Con seeking assistance. She was eligible to receive WIOA Training Assistance and wanted to begin vocational retraining as soon as possible.

She had previously worked in a production position and needed additional training to find a good paying job that would help her support her family.

Eric’s disability was a mild form of Asperger’s Syndrome that caused him to avoid large groups of people. At the time, he only needed 2 credits to graduate.

He had been laid off from his last two jobs—working as a car salesman at Auffenberg in Herrin, and before that, working at an art gallery selling online art. He was getting frustrated looking for a job. Nolan realized he lacked the education to find a full-time, permanent position that would support him and his soon to be wife.”
