Jim Potts from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) presented a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) training session at the Man-Tra-Con office in Marion, Illinois. The 2-day intensive training session was held on Tuesday, January 30th, and Wednesday, January 31st, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Man-Tra-Con staff as well as staff from other workforce areas in Illinois attended the training.
During the training, Jim Potts discussed WIOA policy and eligibility requirements for adult, dislocated worker, and youth customers. He explained selective service requirements for male customers, and priority of service requirements for Veterans. He also discussed the Illinois Workforce Development System (IWDS) that stores and tracks participant data.
