Career Specialist Darien Daniel reports on his customer. “Steven came to Man-Tra-Con in August 2025, seeking CDL training assistance. Through Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant funding, he was eligible to receive financial assistance for tuition, transportation costs, and other expenses related to his CDL training,” Darien explains.
“Steven enrolled in the CDL training program at 160 Driving Academy located in Centralia, Illinois. He received 40 hours of classroom instruction (including permit exam preparation) and 120 hours of hands-on, behind-the-wheel training, with a focus on pre-trip inspections, basic control, and road driving,” Darien adds.
“It was a pleasure to work with Mr. Steven to help him obtain his CDL license through 160 Academy. Mr. Steven has shown commitment, consistency, and a strong will. It was great working with Steven,” Darien says.
“Steven graduated from the Academy in November 2025, and is currently working full-time as a CDL driver for Pepsi MidAmerica,” Darien adds.
Steven was very happy with the assistance he received from Darien, Man-Tra-Con, and the 160 Driving Academy. “160 Academy had great instructors, as well as it being a great program. My family and I have successfully completed 160 Academy. I am very grateful for Man-Tra-Con and the services I have received from the WIOA program. Thank you!!!”
