Greg Bouhl & Carmalita Cahill

CEJA Director Greg Bouhl presents CEJA Coordinator Carmalita Cahill with the Impact Through Service Award at the Carbondale office.

CEO Stephanie Robinson and CEJA Director Greg Bouhl presented Carmalita Cahill with Man-Tra-Con’s Impact Through Service Award for September.

“Carmalita Cahill joined the Man-Tra-Con team less than a year ago as a Career Specialist and now serves as our CEJA Coordinator. In that short time, she has made a tremendous impact on our organization and has become someone her coworkers know they can count on,” CEO Stephanie Robinson says.

CEJA Director Greg Bouhl nominated Carmalita to receive the award, “Carmalita has kept the CEJA program moving forward through a period of real change. She has stepped up wherever she was needed and made sure our participants never felt the impact of those transitions.”

“Our CEJA program has experienced significant staffing changes, and Carmalita has been instrumental in helping us navigate those challenges. As staffing needs have shifted, she has stepped into multiple roles, often taking on responsibilities well beyond her own position to ensure the program continues moving forward. Rather than focusing on what falls within her job description, Carmalita has consistently stepped up to do whatever is needed. Her flexibility, willingness to take on additional responsibilities, and commitment to keeping the program on track have made a tremendous difference during a challenging time,” Stephanie explains.

“What makes Carmalita special, however, goes well beyond her ability to handle the challenges of a growing program. She genuinely cares about the work we do and believes in the difference it can make in people’s lives. She understands that workforce development is about much more than helping someone find a job. It is about creating opportunities for individuals to build better futures for themselves and their families,” Stephanie adds.

“In the short time our CEJA program has been operating, Carmalita has already made a positive impact. She understands that everyone’s journey looks different and that success doesn’t always happen overnight. Whether she is helping someone overcome barriers, build confidence, or take the next step toward a meaningful career, she recognizes that even small steps forward can lead to lasting change,” Stephanie explains.

“One of Carmalita’s greatest strengths is her passion for helping individuals who have faced challenges in their lives. She believes in second chances and that everyone deserves an opportunity to succeed. She meets people where they are, treats them with dignity and respect, and has a way of helping others recognize their own potential, even when they may not see it themselves,” Stephanie adds.

“We are fortunate to have Carmalita as part of the Man-Tra-Con team. Her dedication, flexibility, positive attitude, and willingness to step up when things get difficult reflect exactly what our Impact Through Service Award is meant to recognize. She is a great example of how one person’s commitment to their work can make a difference throughout an organization and the communities it serves,” Stephanie says.

Congratulations, Carmalita, on receiving the Impact Through Service Award! Thank you for everything you do for our team and the communities we serve!
