Man-Tra-Con Corporation has partnered with AISIN Electronics Illinois, LLC (AEIL) to develop an apprenticeship program registered with the United States Department of Labor. The AISIN Engineering Education Program is designed to upskill AISIN’s current workforce as part of its 2026 recruitment and team enhancement strategy.
AISIN Electronics Illinois, LLC (AEIL) is one of three AISIN plants located in the AISIN Industrial Park in Marion, Illinois. The vision of AEIL is to become the premier supplier of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in the automotive industry worldwide.
The AISIN Engineering Education Program provides hands-on training in collaboration with the School of Applied Engineering and Technology in the College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, and Mathematics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), creating new employment opportunities while addressing critical skill shortages in the manufacturing sector.
Currently, six Quality and Production Engineering participants are enrolled in the AISIN Engineering Education Program. Apprentices will be working on-site at AISIN during the 4-year program, and will be hired on as full-time employees after successfully completing the program.
Man-Tra-Con will continue to support AISIN by exploring Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) options, as well as available tax credits, to help transition employees into the program. Currently, we are working with AISIN on Incumbent Worker Training in collaboration with the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC) and the Southern Illinois Manufacturing Academy at Rend Lake College.
